FLSA Mistakes Managers Make and How to Avoid Them

Avoid the many potential mistakes made even when the best efforts are made to comply with the FSLA applicable laws.

The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) signed by President Franklin Roosevelt, 1938, was a struggle for social and economic coverage to include all worker classifications. Today, the FLSA coverage is expanded to include wage and hour issues, payroll calculation for overtime and minimum wage requirements for all employees. There are many mistakes made by employers when the best efforts are made to comply with the FSLA applicable laws. The mistakes may cost employers possible penalties, costly legal or attorney fees. Learn the correct method for calculating overtime pay according to the FLSA guidelines. While more employees are working from home due to recent national and local crisis, employers will learn tips for time and record keeping within the requirements. This topic will examine the common mistakes made by employers and present practical tips on how to avoid them. While employers were required to furlough workers during the COVID-19 crisis, employers are still required to comply with FSLA laws. This material will teach you how to avoid payroll problems when furloughing exempt and non-exempt employees.
