Caring for Dementia Patients: What All Nurses Should Know

Alzheimer's and Dementia patients need help. Learn how health care professionals must care for these struggling patients in their time of need.Long term care facilities are admitting many residents into their facilities that have some form of dementia. Staff members have had required dementia training, however, when there are over 50% of residents with some type of dementia, it is difficult to ensure that all residents receive the highest quality care and maintain dignity and autonomy. This information will assist staff in providing approaches to residents that relate to their live experiences and to offer insight into providing care. The topic is crucial to all staff dealing with dementia in nursing homes and will provide hands-on ideas to not only provide care for residents, but to ensure federal requirements for surveys.
