Effective Tips for Managing and Organizing Employees With ADD/ADHD

Learn to spot ADHD in the workplace and structure jobs to support improved functioning and performance.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder affects 4.4% of adults in the United States and as many as 3.5 million members of the U.S. workforce, with a loss to employers of the equivalent of five weeks of labor productivity per employee suffering from ADHD. Employers do not know how to assist these otherwise motivated and talented employees to remain focused and on-track in their jobs, resulting in $193 billion in financial and economic losses to employers as well as the U.S. economy. This topic will provide employers with the knowledge and tools they need to spot potential ADHD in employees and structure their jobs and workplace environments in order to support and foster improved functioning and performance in the workplace. Information will be provided on identifying signs of possible ADHD and available remedies including referrals to employee assistance programs and recommending the employee seek treatment. Information will be provided on the type of environment that is most conducive to a person living with ADHD operating effectively and efficiently and ways the employer can create such an environment.
