Gain an understanding of soft tissue injury cases within motor vehicle collisions that could be differing with testimonials.
In many injury cases there are conflicting testimony or witness statements and unclear causation links. In low-speed motor vehicle collisions there are frequently pre-existing medical conditions, occupant positions and vehicle features and crash dynamics which influence the potential for injury. The biomechanics expert, frequently in conjunction with a crash Reconstructionist, reviews and analyzes the facts of a case to analyze and determine if the force of the collision was sufficient to cause the specific injuries claimed and/or or are consistent with the specific collision. This topic helps attorneys and paralegals who represent litigants who have been injured in a low speed motor vehicle collision understand the injury producing forces and motions in these collisions, and the types of biomechanical analyses commonly done so that they are better able to select experts, when needed, to resolve conflicts. Neck, back and shoulder injury case examples, among others, will be discussed.
