America Invents Act: How the New Patent Legislation Will Affect Your Clients

On September 16, 2011 the President signed the most sweeping patent reform bill in many practitioners' lifetimes. While one of the goals of patent reform was to speed up the patenting process, a large number of changes have been made to the definitions of patentable subject matter, what constitutes prior art, how patents are examined and challenged, as well as how litigation of patents will be conducted that may cause uncertainty as to how best to proceed. This OnDemand Webinar helps those responsible for procuring and litigating patents to understand what the actual impacts have been four months after the law was enacted, as well as how to plan for future expected changes to obtaining and maintaining patent rights. This program explains specific changes to dozens of statutory provisions and discusses how others have adapted to the statutory changes. This OnDemand Webinar is critical for those seeking to understand the vast changes in patent law.
