Onboarding New Managers

According to the SHRM Foundation, half of senior level outside hires fail within their first 18 months on a new job. And the cost of this turnover to an organization can be exorbitant -- 60% to 90% of an employee's annual salary is the cost to replace an employee. To avoid failure, it is imperative that organizations provide onboarding programs that ensure the success of their new employees. What exactly is onboarding? Onboarding is the process of integrating a new employee into a company. It is not the same as orientation. Orientation is typically a one-day introduction to benefits, resources, amenities, and an overview of the company culture. Onboarding, on the other hand, is a longer process that usually takes between three and 12 months. Providing a formal, company-led onboarding program is imperative to set up your new employee for success and reduce turnover costs. In this presentation, I will provide the key success factors to bring new leaders through the onboarding process at your company.
