California's Abusive Conduct Training Regulation Under AB 2053

Make sure you are in compliance with California's workplace 'anti-bullying' requirement.

Most employers in California are required to train management and non-management employees on how to prevent harassment and discrimination in the workplace. California also requires employers train employees on how to prevent abusive conduct. California's detailed training requirements can be onerous for many employers who may not be aware of what they need to do to ensure compliance and provide their employees with effective training. Compliance is made more difficult with the Legislature's frequent changes to the training requirements. This presentation will help persons responsible for preparing, providing, and tracking harassment prevention training understand California's requirements and ensure their company is in full compliance. The topic will also explain what abusive conduct is and the best practices for preventing it in the workplace. Failing to provide compliant training can lead to an increase in inappropriate conduct in the workplace and the mismanagement of employee complaints about such conduct. It can also increase liability to employers in litigation related to alleged harassment, discrimination, and retaliation claims. This presentation is critical for employers to ensure their harassment prevention training complies with California law.
