The Feds and New York Allow Further Access to CBD and Medical Cannabis

The first FDA-approved drug based on cannabidiol (CBD) moves from Schedule I to Schedule V.

In June 2018, the FDA approved Epidiolex for treatment of seizures from two different forms of epilepsy. And finally, in September 2018, the DEA rescheduled that drug. Epidiolex is currently the only FDA-approved drug that contains CBD and this rescheduling applies only to Epidiolex and not CBD in general. This white paper reviews why those in the CBD industry must not interpret this change as a sign of approval from the FDA or DEA.
