Negotiation Strategies: Monitoring and Demonstrating Work and Progress, and Change Orders

Despite best efforts in planning, conditions may arise during the contractual relationship that may affect the vendor’s performance.

In any contractual relationship requiring the vendor to work over an extended period of time, the customer will also have to address the issue of ensuring that the vendor’s compensation matches the periodic value that the vendor provides, and/or progress that the vendor is making on its work.  This white paper reviews monitoring and demonstrating work and progress; as well as how to handle change orders and claims for extra work and delay.
