Insurance Coverage - What to Get From Your Client?

It's important that a paralegal keep things moving to avoid a collection situation.

It is critical to determine any and all potential insurance coverage that could be applicable in your client’s personal injury claim. Starting from the first meeting it needs to be determined what applicable insurance coverages your client has through their own insurer(s), and insurance cards and/or policies need to be obtained. Next, you will need to determine what liability coverage is available to your client. In extreme cases, you may be required to file a lawsuit naming the responsible party in order to obtain the insurance information. Download this white paper for details on how to identify and verify liens and what to do as the file moves toward settlement or mediation.
