EPA Retracts CERCLA Remedy Selection Authority from Regional Offices for Remedies Over $50 Million

EPA issues two new delegations under CERCLA

Agenda

These new delegations set a limit on the administrator, and in some cases the deputy administrator, on the authority to select remedies estimated to cost more than $50 million. One of the delegations is general to Superfund sites and the other is relating to federal facilities. These revised delegations could have a significant impact on CERCLA processes.
