When your brain observes a person in your surroundings, it is programmed to immediately determine if it is to handle that person as a threat. In less than 1/24th of a second a human brain responds to this first impression at the unconscious level; and just three seconds later, that first impression is now firmly established and not likely to experience additional significant change.
