When Early Termination or Modification is Authorized, What Needs to Be Done?

Walk through the administrative steps to terminate a trust.

When the time for the termination of a trust has arrived, the trustee has such powers and duties as are appropriate for the winding up of the trust. The administrative steps are the same for an early termination or a standard termination. The general theme of any trust termination is communication and documentation. These things will keep you out of the most trouble. This video reviews the ongoing fiduciary duties, distribution plans and tax considerations.
