Conflict of interest can result in a negative financial impact.

The general rule on conflicts is Rule 1.7 which is a conflict between two current clients. There can be both a direct conflict or there can be an indirect conflict. Either of these types of conflict can cause significant risk of a material limitation that can come from any source. This video reviews applicable conflict rules and discusses the difference between direct and indirect conflicts.
