HIPAA rules have been fairly stable - for now.
The last major HIPAA update was in 2013, as a result of the HITECH Act. There is still no update to Accounting of Disclosures, as required by HITECH but there may be a change to Requirement to Obtain an Acknowledgement of the Receipt of a Notice of Privacy Practices. This video reviews new regulatory directions and overdue regulatory action and court ruling limiting regulations and discusses trends in security and enforcement including penalty structure and settlements for not providing access properly.
