Listing and Critical Habitat Developments Under the Endangered Species Act

The Endangered Species Act (ESA) is one of the most well-known and powerful environmental laws. Loss of habitat has the most impact on species extinction. This is why, once a species is listed as an endangered species, the government must designate critical habitat either concurrently or within one year. The critical habitat is an area that has either physical or biological features that are essential to the conservation of the species.

Paul “Skip” Spaulding, III, partner in Farella Braun + Martel LLP, and Vic Sher, Principal and founder of Vic Sher Law, will be outlining the updates of the ESA. Specifically, they explain the new listing regulations, the issues and trends with delisting, and developments for critical habitat. You will see prominent court decisions to understand how to apply the latest ESA developments to your practice and identify the important trends. This video will help to advise clients regarding ESA opportunities and vulnerabilities. Some other ESA Topics Spaulding and Sher will overview are citizen suit attorneys’ fees, the Energy Project ESA challenging trends, Agency Rulemaking Limits, and Injunction Standards.
