International Building Codes: The Codes and Standards Framework

Understand the adopted standards of professional and trade associations.

The ICC has the I-Codes, the NFPA has the C3-Codes, the IBC has the NFPA 5000 codes, and the list goes on. Each governmental jurisdiction has its own means of reviewing and approving projects based on these different sets of codes. This video looks at building codes within the context of the regulatory framework in which they function to provide the minimum requirements to construct, adapt, or alter a building.
