Implement Your Document Retention and Destruction Policy

When implementing an information management program it’s important to obtain approval from legal counsel. It sounds self-interested but it’s important to make sure that the program is complying with any legal requirements an organization has for retention as well as any specific litigation hold procedures. Having specific guidance and policy directives is particularly important especially when policies can come across as lengthy, filled with legalese verbiage, and not necessarily by those that are going to be expected to enforce the policies and follow through with them.

In this video our speaker, Jack Pringle, reviews the importance of training employees when implementing the information management program. He discusses how to make sure employees understand their role in the program with an emphasis on the procedures that need to be followed.
