Current Conditions - Estate Planning

What are the changes that have led us to the current estate planning environment?

A common situation that estate planners try to plan around is the gift and estate tax. This tax is 40% of the assets that someone owns when they pass away if they are included in their estate and are over the exemption amount. There are ways to get around this tax and our speaker, Steven Beck, discusses those ways and reviews the current state of inheritance taxes, gift taxes, and the importance of flexibility. With record-high estate tax exemptions and a narrowing gap between income tax and estate tax rates, ensuring estate plans are capable of shifting between protecting assets from estate or income taxes is more important than ever.
