People don’t get as much thought to termination provisions at the start of a contract because there is a reason for the contractual relationship. However, it’s important to actually plan for the termination of the contract at the outset of the relationship to keep your company protected. Contracts can terminate by expiration of their own terms, by operation of law or agreement in the event of a default, or by agreement for the convenience of the parties if the contract affords that right. This video reviews termination provisions and also discusses change order and indemnification provisions.
