As a general matter, when you form a new business you are going to put items into some sort of business formation. Purchases of goods for business use will normally be subject to sales and use tax; and depending on the type of business there may be exemptions that apply (e.g. manufacturing). This video reviews different the sales and use consequences of both forming a business and acquiring or merging a business.
