Best Practices When Off-Boarding Employees

Failing to plan is planning to fail.

When off-boarding an employee it’s important to have processes and procedures in place to reduce the risk of a HIPAA breach. Designating someone to be the point-person who is in charge of off-boarding plans is a step in the right direction. This video reviews the importance of taking action to remove access as quickly as possible during the off-boarding process, and to notify and coordinate with IT and/or security when employees leave or give their notice as timing and urgency may be vital in some circumstances.
