What you Need to Know About New York Public Records and Open Meetings

Understand the New York open meetings and public records laws and how they apply to you.

This topic will review current 'hot topics' and trends in the Freedom of Information and Open Meetings Laws, with a focus on recent statutory amendments and recent New York decisions. Ongoing issues, such as issues relating to information technology, dealing with a public body’s 'Executive Session,' notice requirements, and grounds for denials of FOIL requests, will be addressed.
