Kerri McGowan Lowrey, J.D., M.P.H.
- Deputy director, Network for Public Health Law, Eastern Region, at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law
- More than 13 years of experience in public health law and policy research, as well as primary and secondary legal and legislative research, and analysis
- Presents and lectures regularly at national public health and legal conferences and meetings, on youth sports concussion laws and their implementation
- Provides legal technical assistance to a number of organizations on TBI and other injury prevention laws, including the Children’s Safety Network, the Massachusetts Athletic Trainers Association, the Northeast and Caribbean Injury Prevention Network, and various state departments of health and education
- Former Cancer Prevention Fellow and Cancer Research Training Award Fellow at the National Cancer Institute
- Writer/co-writer of three peer-reviewed publications on public health laws, as well as a paper on implementation of youth sports concussion laws that is currently under review
- Memberships include the Law Section of the American Public Health Association (program chair, 2011 to 2015); American Society of Law, Medicine, & Ethics; University of Maryland Working Group on Sports Injury Prevention, 2012; Safe States Alliance (policy committee 2013, 2014)
