Interaction of the Affordable Care Act with Other Laws

While the Affordable Care Act primarily made amendments to the Public Health Services Act (PHSA), a number of other federal laws were also amended, including the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, as amended (ERISA) and the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (Code). However, because of the ACA’s far-reaching impact, employers cannot overlook compliance obligations under other laws that relate to group health plans. This on-demand webinar will address strategies, potential traps for the unwary, and best practices for integrating rules under the ACA with other laws. This on-demand webinar is important for employers, in-house counsel and HR and benefits professionals that deal with both day-to-day and strategic health care plan issues.

Learning Objectives:
•You will be able to review the statutory provisions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
•You will be able to discuss Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (Code).
•You will be able to explain health care continuation coverage (COBRA).
•You will be able to discuss Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008 (MHPAEA).
