Energy Project Depreciation and Tax Credits Under the New Tax Bill

Navigate the technical changes made by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and the Bipartisan Budget Act.

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, as well as the recent Bipartisan Budget Act, have brought sudden changes to the renewable energy industry. A few of those changes come about directly from provisions in the bills. On the other hand, many provisions in the bills will only have indirect, but potentially far more reaching, effects on both sponsors and investors. This topic will help the listener navigate the technical changes made by the bills but, just as importantly, how those provisions could affect the tax equity markets, the 'supply' of tax equity, the new demands investors may make, and the possible effects on the 'cost' of tax equity. We also will provide hints regarding drafting of tax equity documents in light of the new bills.
