Elizabeth Thompson is an associate in the Commercial Litigation Group of the Chicago office of Arnstein & Lehr. Whether navigating the intricacies of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act for a Fortune 500 client or counseling community associations on the changing landscape of the Illinois Condominium Property Act, Ms. Thompson brings a detail-oriented approach to every client involved in litigation. Ms. Thompson’s breadth of experience also includes litigating constitutional claims, administrative review actions, white collar criminal defense, and business litigation, such as preliminary and permanent injunctions, declaratory judgments, insurance issues, breach of fiduciary duty claims, and breaches of contract, in state and federal courts throughout the country. In addition, Ms. Thompson has successfully handled a number of appeals.

Prior to joining Arnstein & Lehr, Ms. Thompson was a judicial law clerk for the presiding judge of the Chancery Division of the Cook County Circuit Court. There, she had experience researching and drafting opinions on a variety of equity issues, including insurance declaratory judgments, constitutional questions, and administrative review cases. Additionally, while in law school, Elizabeth was on the executive board of the Chicago-Kent Law Review.

What professional recognitions do you have?
She received the distinction of being voted to join the Order of the Coif, an honor society for law school graduates who graduate in the top ten percent of their class. Additionally, while in law school, Ms. Thompson received the CALI award for achieving the highest grade in the classes of contracts, criminal procedure, securities regulation, bankruptcy, business organizations, and constitutional law.
