L. David former Executive director of the North American Geosynthetics Society is now doing business as LDS Geosynthetic Consulting Services. In 2013 L. David Suits received the ASTM International Johnson Award for Outstanding Contributions to Soil and Rock Standards. As supervisor of the soil mechanics laboratory he oversaw the performance of all foundation design testing done in conjunction with the departments $1 billion design and construction program, this included strength, consolidation, permeability and model testing. He is also oversaw the department's geosynthetic acceptance and quality assurance process, this included testing and evaluating of geosynthetic products for strength, water flow and soil retention characteristics.
