Learn practical techniques for evaluating a project situation and applying the proper communication and conflict-resolution techniques.
Regardless of the type of project, research has shown that project management is necessary for getting things done. Yet EY reported in 2021 that 64% of all projects are off schedule, and as many as 70% of projects fail due to inaccurate requirements, leadership, scope creep, and other reasons. Every day, we all manage projects for ourselves, our organizations, our children, schoolwork, and more- the list of categories is endless. This session covers basic project management steps for starting, managing, and maintaining a project that goes off course and stagnates. Topics include how to recognize that your project is off track, how to identify perceived and realistic risks and challenges, and how to manage through obstacles such as natural disasters, supply chain issues, team member attrition, budget challenges, and leadership concerns. You will also learn how to move forward by communicating early, changing the narrative and setting a new course, and establishing accountability and task management.
