Getting CB Certified
Becoming CB certified requires passing a four-part exam covering the following topics:
- Part 1: Adjustments and error correction
- Part 2: Payroll and depreciation
- Part 3: Inventory
- Part 4: Internal controls and fraud prevention
Parts 1 and 2 are administered at Prometric testing centers, located nationwide. Parts 3 and 4 are open book exams administered at home. In addition to passing the four-part exam, CB-certified bookkeepers have to demonstrate least two years’ full-time experience or 3000 hours of part time/freelance experience, and they must also sign a code of ethics.
Maintaining Your Certification: The Role of Continuing Education
