Who Can Apply for CHPS Certification

- An Associate's degree and at least six years of relevant experience
- A Bachelor's degree or prior RHIT certification as well as at least four years of relevant experience
- A Master's degree or higher, or RHIA certification, and at least two years of experience
Security is a rapidly changing field, and to ensure all CHPS holders are on top of the latest developments, 30 credit hours of continuing education must be completed every two-year recertification period. This requirement can be fulfilled through online training such as live and previously recorded webinars, so long as 80% of all programming is in a topic relevant to the field of health informatics and information management (HIIM).
