Developments in Whistleblowing Law

 

So what's new?

States passed new whistleblower laws or strengthened them in the aftermath of COVID-19. New York amended Section 741 of New York Labor Law which increased protections for whistleblowers in health care and prohibits retaliation against employees who disclose or threaten to disclose to the news media or social media violations of improper quality of patient care or workplace safety. This video reviews this change as well as new and proposed Federal and different State legislation. The video also discusses recent court decisions.
