Louisiana consistently ranks towards the bottom of most national rankings for tax climate and ranks 50th in the nation as it relates specifically to sales tax. Moreover, Louisiana’s budget shortfalls over the last few years have brought sales tax reform to the forefront. In 2016, Louisiana will swear-in a new Governor along with several newly elected state representatives and senators. Not surprisingly, tax reform will again be at the top of the legislature’s action items.
