Important Tariffs and Import Duties Updates

Gain an in-depth understanding of the tariff system and its impact on importers.

Many importers and downstream purchasers struggle to understand and are often surprised by special tariffs that affect merchandise imported into the United States in addition to regular Customs duties. They also are unsure about possible opportunities to mitigate or avoid the impact of the tariffs. This course identifies an array of such special tariffs, including antidumping and countervailing duties, Section 301 tariffs, Section 201 tariffs, and Section 232 tariffs. It will touch on the legal basis and process for imposing the duties and the scope of the merchandise affected by the duties. Finally, it will explore options for mitigating or avoiding the impact of the duties.
