Off-Campus Real Estate Development

Real estate development in the proximity of higher education institutions, whether undertaken by the institution itself, a private concern or a joint venture between the educational institution and a private concern, presents a myriad of issues above and beyond what is normally encountered with conventional real estate development projects.

These issues often include complicated questions related to income, real estate and sales taxes, economic development incentives, zoning and land-use and not-for-profit corporate law. Individuals participating in this OnDemand Webinar will gain a deeper understanding of the legal and practical issues that must be analyzed by both educational institutions and private development concerns when assessing the feasibility of off-campus and near campus real estate development projects. Learning Objectives: •You will be able to identify IRS and Financing Issues. •You will be able to discuss private sponsored off-campus real estate development. •You will be able to explain implementation methodologies. •You will be able to recognize joint ventures with For-Profit and Not-For-Profit Organizations.
