Impact of Civil Union Legislation in Illinois

Illinois recently passed a civil union law, which becomes effective July 1, 2011.

The new civil union law will have a great deal of impact on the status of same sex relationships in the state of Illinois and throughout the country. This OnDemand Webinar will go into detail regarding the requirements for a civil union, the impact on same-sex partnerships entered into in other states, the implications for employee benefit plans and estate planning considerations. This program will assist benefit plan sponsors in understanding their rights and obligations with respect to employees who enter into a civil union. In addition, this OnDemand Webinar will assist civil union parties with estate planning considerations related to their new status.
