Many employers do not understand how to identify and manage behavior in the workplace that may result in a violation of protected class laws or that may otherwise subject the employer to liability.

Many employers who are subject to the various laws that govern protected classes often do not understand how to identify and manage behavior in the workplace that may result in a violation of these laws or that may otherwise subject the employer to liability. Very often, this problem arises as the result of a lack of knowledge of how the commonsense understanding of the laws that relate to protected classes differ from how they are actually interpreted and implemented by courts. Every employer and/or employee relations personnel needs to understand these laws and also understand how they are being interpreted by courts and administrative agencies. This topic will provide the information and knowledge that employers, human resource officers, and other employee relations personnel need in order to understand and properly adhere to the laws related to protected classes and to avoid liability in this area. Learn the basic concepts about laws related to protected classes, what conduct is considered to violate these laws, and get practical examples of how these laws operate in the courtroom
