Contractors and owners struggle to allocate risk, while maintaining focus on the project. Often the needs of the project are lost in the posturing of the parties over risk and changed circumstances. This course helps the persons responsible for analyzing budgets, schedules and risk allocation with options that may provide better results. Teaming arrangements in construction are intended to provide a better product, timely and on budget by enhancing capabilities, reducing risk, increasing efficiency, and promoting innovation through improved communications, shared goals and resources and better use of specialized expertise. The central feature of these arrangements is to replace the adversarial nature of owner-contractor relationships with a collaborative model based on the bests interests of the project.
