Contractor Ethics: Managing Risks in a Dynamic Environment

This timely OnDemand Webinar will be of vital and self-protective interest to companies involved in U.

S. Government contracting and subcontracting. Companies receiving on or after December 24, 2007 a non-commercial-item prime contract valued at over five million dollars and to be performed for at least 120 days will find clauses embedded in the contract that impose substantial duties aimed at preventing and revealing fraudulent and criminal acts. One of the requirements forces all such contractors to adopt "Codes of Business Ethics and Conduct," and contractors other than small businesses must have implemented specific training programs and internal control systems designed to prevent and/or detect fraud. These requirements must also be flowed down to subcontractors. The Defense Contract Audit Agency is paying particular attention to issues involving contractor compliance. All public contractors should have mechanisms in place to improve their chances of avoiding violations and to be able to identify the occasional noncompliant individual as a rogue who had spurned official company policies and procedures. Our panel of experts will identify the issues and concerns facing contractors and contribute to your understanding of how to establish a good, effective system that could minimize your company's exposure to the horrific expenses and dangers entailed in being wrapped up in a fraud investigation. Learning Objectives: •You will be able to discuss DCAA audits of contractor compliance systems. •You will be able to identify False Claims Act considerations. •You will be able to review monitoring, auditing and documentation. •You will be able to explain performing internal and external compliance assessments.
