Nexus Issues in State Tax Planning

Learn how to properly advise your client and warn against the possible tax consequences of moving to another state or accepting employment in a neighboring state.

This information will address two common difficulties in multistate taxation - the mobile client moving from state to state and the client who lives in one state but works in another. Properly advising these clients can result in the avoidance of huge state bills and eliminating the stress of battling state taxing agencies. Budget-strapped states are becoming increasingly aggressive in their search for additional revenues. This material will review recent case law that is developing with the crossing of state lines by clients.
