Police Misconduct Update: Arrests

Review facial recognition technology and the effects of legalizing marijuana.

Law enforcement has compared file photos with video footage through facial recognition technology to make arrests, but some say the use of the technology is going too far. The civil rights practitioner is likely in the future to be involved in an arrest assisted in part by the use of facial recognition technology. This white paper reviews mistaken identity arrests and also discusses the effects of legalizing marijuana and searches of vehicles and occupants.
