Google® Fined $57 Million in First Major Enforcement of GDPR Against a US-based Company

Alleged violation brings about tremendous cost.

In early 2019, Google® found themselves faced with a fine that came close to $57 million for purported breach of the General Data Protection Regulation.  To date, not only is this the first fine for a U.S.-based company, this is the largest fine that has been charged since the GDPR was put in place in 2018. This white paper reviews the charges and what may be done to appeal the fine.
