EPA Proposes to Add a Site to the National Priorities List Based on Risk Posed by Vapor Intrusion

U.S. EPA is focusing on areas with the highest risk.

The Hazard Ranking System scores sites to determine how high the risk is with each contaminated site. In January 2018, the EPA proposed to list a site based on vapor intrusion and the risk to human’s health. This is the first time contaminated sites have been rated like this. This white paper reviews how ranking system used as well as how a specific site is currently being handled.
