Reality of Reform: What Tax-Exempt Hospitals Should Know (and Do) about Section 501(r)

The Affordable Care Act imposed additional requirements on charitable hospitals by adding Section 501(r) to the Internal Revenue Code. This slide deck will help hospital executives and their counsel navigate the complex, often prescriptive, new requirements that hospitals must satisfy in order to maintain their tax-exempt status. This program will also offer practical insight into how hospitals can satisfy their obligations under Section 501(r) with minimal disruption to their day-to-day operations, and it will recommend best practices to ensure compliance with Section 501(r) in joint venture and management arrangements.
