Current Employment Issues for Nonprofits

Nonprofit employers are presented with compliance requirements keyed to their tax exempt status. This is notably true with respect to executive compensation and perks and volunteers and interns. Nonprofit employers also must parse out whether they are covered by new statutes, such as the Affordable Care Act, or affected by trends and new rulings, such as the explosion of use of social media. In this live audio conference, you will learn how to comply with and take advantage of regulations concerning executive compensation and perks, successfully apply existing laws to volunteers and interns, identify the legal issues that social medial presents for employers and how to address them, and avoid the financial pitfalls to nonprofits in unemployment laws. Nonprofit employers also will receive current information on the application to them of the Affordable Care Act. Failure to comply with executive compensation and volunteer restrictions can result in significant taxes and penalties. A failure to proactively protect a nonprofit's rights in unemployment cases and social media posts can result in higher costs and loss of rights and litigation. Every employer is seeking current information about ACA. This audio conference is an important tool to avoid the imposition of taxes, penalties and fines, reduce costs, protect intellectual property and other rights and avoid litigation.
