  • Works at Sandia National Laboratories in the On-Orbit Satellite Analysis Group working with satellite sensors and detectors working with photovoltaic applications for 20 years
  • Works with the Facilities Department at Sandia as a renewable energy and sustainability consultant on the Campus Commons project to help change the face of the “gateway” into Sandia labs into a net zero energy and water campus
  • Trained as both an electrical engineer and an electrician
  • Works with the Solar America Cities project and promoting DOE’s Workforce Development initiative, Tiger Team (government) lead for Solar America Cities, San Antonio, Austin, and Houston Texas, was on the technical review committee for the Southwest Indian Polytechnic Institute’s (SIPI) renewable energy program and on the US committee for the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP)
  • In 2009 served on the City of Albuquerque’s Climate Action Task Force at the request of Mayor Martin Chavez
  • Past president of the New Mexico Solar Energy Association http://www.nmsea.org, where she served for four years and remains on the advisory board; past board member of the Renewable Energy Industries Association of New Mexico (REIA-NM); served on the Governor of New Mexico’s Solar Task Force and part of the working group for the Energy and Minerals Department of the State of New Mexico for the Solar Tax Credits that was formalized July 2006
  • Currently teaches classes through the New Mexico Solar Energy Association (NMSEA) and other nonprofit organizations
  • Teaches classes in technology with industry professionals locally in Albuquerque through the University of New Mexico (UNM’s) Continuing Education Program and with Solar Energy International (SEI) throughout the country
  • Created the “Woman in Solar” award that was given for the first time at ASES in July in Portland, Oregon, five years ago and highlighted as a “Solar Hero” in ASES’ Solar Today magazine in May of 2009
  • Masters degree in electrical engineering, and certificate in the electrical trades
