The topic will focus on a review of new industry guidance and reporting requirement changes resulting from the implementation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureauís (CFPB) 2015 Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) Final Rule, effective January 1, 2018. Discussion will also focus on a deep dive into aspects of a HMDA governance program, reporting threshold requirements, challenges, best practices and next steps that organizations may consider to ensure compliance with the Final Rule. This material will help departments responsible for HMDA reporting understand the expanded Loan Application Register (LAR) in more detail and how to avoid common reporting pitfalls and mistakes that can occur when reporting, with Action Taken, Action Taken Date, Income, and expanded GMI data. Share best practices around Expanded transactional coverage, loan-level reporting requirements, and increased reporting frequency which are the hallmarks of the expanded Final Rule.
