Problems with Estate Planning for Blended Families

Just because you believe something, doesn’t mean that everyone else will.

When designing these plans considerable thought needs to go into a few things. For instance, how long has the blended family been together? What about the marital home and how that will be handled? Are your clients communicating with their children? How can a trust help? First of all, trusts are an extremely effective tool to leave someone something now, with the asset ultimately being left to someone else. Secondly, you can put conditions on an inheritance from a trust. Watch this video for details these considerations and how a prenuptial agreement can help.
