Rule 3.3 deals with candor towards the tribunal. Mr. Snow says that candor is a bit of an understatement as the rule requires absolute truthfulness. He explains that a lawyer may have filed a brief where a case was cited and then learn after the filing that the case was overruled. Lawyers have an obligation to make sure that the court is aware that the statement was in error. Lawyers always have an obligation to correct any misstatements of fact.
