How Can You Modify or Terminate a Trust Early If There Are No Terms in the Trust Authorizing Such Action

Review specific situations why beneficiaries may wish to modify a trust.

From outdated trust terms to a change in the institutional trustee the beneficiary of a trust may want to make some changes. Trust law is the subject of state law, not federal law; although certain broad principles may be found in almost every state’s trust law you much make sure you are focusing on the law of the state in which the trust is located to determine what principles and rules are going to apply. This video reviews when a trust will, and can, terminate; and common law rules of termination or modification with the consent of the beneficiaries.
